Notes To Self

Some recent Notes To Self:

1. Make the messy-long-bob my go to hairstyle of 2010 (Camille Bidault-Waddington via TFS)...

2. Rearrange shelves so that all denim and stripes sit next to each other (Jak & Jil)...

3. Find someone to knit me a cosy shoulder-warmer (Wool and the Gang)...

How I Wear Them

I've had several inquires about how I'd outfit my Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony Bass Boots, so I thought I would share with you a photo I took this weekend. I was on my way to the Portland Crafty Wonderland Super Colossal Holiday Sale (mouthful)... there was lots of salt on the sidewalks... and then click, a photo opportunity!

Alright, so you can't see much of the outfit, but it goes a little something like this... Ranger Boots, Striped Gap socks, Zara leggings, Urban Skirt, H&M popover sweatshirt, Anthropologie Coat.... Winter-time Sweetness!

Weekend Inspiration

With possible snow in Portland over the next couple of days, I will be looking to bundle up this weekend. Parka + Leggings + Scarf + Boots sounds like the perfect combo...

But I think I will swap out the leggings for these Mary Meyer beauties (going to buy asap):

Have a lovely winter weekend!

Members Only

I have been thoroughly enjoying Totokaelo's Members Series. Their online store has such amazing merchandise, I can only assume the brink-n-mortar store is equally delightful - I am hoping to plan a Seattle trip soon and Totokaelo will be my #1 stop.

The shop blog is very inspirational for outfitting and layering ideas - here are some of my favorite recent Member Looks:

I Like (Kinda, Maybe)

As you probably know already, I am a huge fan of The White Chuck Taylor. Anyone who knows me knows I wear them with everything (sometimes even when they're not appropriate), so naturally I am kind of liking these Vena Cava Product RED Chucks. What do you think? Too look-at-me?

These girls have the best casual style, right?

My favorite gifts to give are the ever-enjoyable gifts of great accessories. With friend's & family's varied personal style preferences, accessories are a good way to spread some style-cheer while reducing the chances that they might not wear it.

Steven Alan Hat ($58), Jansport 1972 ($115), I. Rooni Kappos Earrings ($180), Comme Des Garcons Wallet ($145), Jack Spade Laptop Case ($215), Dores Earrings ($20), MiniCyn Ring ($65), Lipstick Queen ($18),

Go Buy Now

You know I am a huge sucker for tote bags and these from Spoon Me Love are no exception.

AND at $15 they would make a fantastic gift!

P.S. If you haven't already, you've got to check out one of Spoon Me Love's creator's Caroline... She has a delightful blog The Space In-Between.

Color Palettes

I recently added Wear Palettes to my Google Reader. The blog combines street style photos with color palettes - kinda fun. I love the idea of thinking of your outfit in a head-to-toe palette.

Also, can we talk about the red hair?!? I have been in a total hair funk (read: bangs clipped back with a simple chignon... e v e r y d a y), maybe a little (or big) dye-job would infuse some life??

Winter Roundup: Duck Boots

I have been dragging my feet on starting this season's Roundup Series, but seeing as it's almost December and it's starting to get downright COLD in many places I am now officially embracing Winter!

So, for our first Winter Roundup, I bring you Duck Boots. I know they are a little goofy at first glance, but trust me, Duck Boots are where it's at for wet and cold winter weather. LL Bean's Bean Boots are the classic, but I am also loving the Sperry Topsider version. Often you can get these shoes lined with some sort of shearling which adds to their warmth and comfort. AND Duck Boots are super cute with both jeans and dresses!

Warm, water-proof and the right amount of outdoorsy-girl-quirk... what more could you ask for?!?!

Sperry Topsider for JCrew ($158), LL Bean 8" Bean Boot ($84), Sperry Topsider ($104).

Stay tuned for more Winter Roundups over the next couple of weeks!
